Men

Scripture teaches us that “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17) So at Second Church we committed to making sure men are able to come together in authentic groups and use their specific talents to the glory of God’s Kingdom.

Where to Connect:

-Men’s Group

Do man things with men. Oyster roasting, shrimp boils, barbeques, and lots of activities that involve bodies of water are typical gatherings for the men’s group.

Where to Grow:

-Men’s Bible Study

Sundays, 10:00am-11:00am, Blue Room (room 205)

This is perhaps the longest continuous Bible study in Second Church’s history. Clyde Mizzel and others as the men learn the art of exegesis (how to interpret the Bible) and the themes of scripture. For 2009, they will be reading “What’s in the Bible” by R.C. Sproul, available at the church or in your local bookstore.

Where to Connect and Grow:

-The Pastor’s Men’s Small Group

Wednesdays, 6:00pm, Fellowship Hall

Relax after work and study the Bible with Reverend Darwin. Close-knit, but always inclusive, this is a special opportunity to be real with one another and partake in Reverend Darwin’s keen Biblical wisdom. For 2009, they will be reading “What’s in the Bible” by R.C. Sproul, available at the church or on Amazon.com.
